Saturday, 14 August Independence Day of Pakistan 2021
There may be many issues that divide the Pakistani people, but when it comes to celebrating Independence Day on August 14, 2021 the whole nation comes together to please the feeling of living in a free and independent state.
Every year, Pakistanis from all walks of life celebrate Independence Day with renewed vigor. But unlike in the past, the Code-19 epidemic has taken a toll on this year’s celebrations.
Nevertheless, various political, religious, and governmental organizations, as well as the general public, have decided to follow the government’s proposed Corona Virus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with the same enthusiasm.
Talking to Express Tribune, Shafiq Raza Qadri, President, Anjuman-e-Shahreen-e-Lahore, said that August 14 is very important for every Pakistani, so we should celebrate it with the same traditional spirit.
“We will start with prayers in the mosque for the development and prosperity of our country,” Qadri said. “Lockdown has been abolished in Punjab but we still have to be careful while avoiding large gatherings and maintaining social distance.”
Shahid Meraj, dean of the Cathedral Church Lahore, said that on Independence Day, the children of the Sunday choir sang songs and offered tables at the church, while special prayers would be offered for Pakistan’s national security.
“I urge the public to ensure the implementation of SOPs on the occasion of Independence Day.”
Cvil society representative Abdullah Malik added: “We should also remember our Kashmiri brothers and sisters on the occasion of Independence Day. I also appeal to Pakistani youth to pray for the country, to get involved in bullying.” Avoid alcohol, and attend large gatherings because we must pledge a healthy and cowardly-19 independent Pakistan.
