The Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education has developed a new curriculum for the academic year 2020-21 for class 9th smart syllabus. The curriculum for intermediate classes has been reduced across the country due to COVID-19.

All schools and colleges remained closed for about six months. Given this dire situation, the KP government of primary and secondary education departments has taken an initiative to introduce an educational calendar for educational institutions to meet the needs of students in the current scenario.
The competent authority of the Directorate of Curriculum and Teacher Education (DCTE) Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) is responsible for curriculum reduction.

So the directorate organized a workshop. Subject matter experts from various colleges and schools were invited to prepare this fast-paced curriculum. This fast curriculum has been developed in light of the expected time available for students in the current situation.
It was also kept in mind that the basic concepts and ideas of all subjects should not be affected. It is hoped that this accelerated academic calendar will help students meet their study needs in every way.
Therefore, DCTE’s fast curriculum for first-year and second-year classes will help students easily prepare for the upcoming exams in 2021. Annual board exams will be conducted by KPK boards according to this smart curriculum.
This new smart curriculum is valid for all KP including BISE Mardan, BISE Malakand, BISE Abbottabad, BISE Swat, BISE Bannu, BISE Kohat, BISE Peshawar, BISE Kohat Board.
