The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad is an important board of education in Pakistan that is responsible for the annual and supply examinations of matriculation and intermediate classes in the Federal Capital Territory of Islamabad, the tribal areas, and the cantonments throughout Pakistan. Apart from this, Pakistanis living abroad can also take part in Matriculation and Intermediate examinations through FBSE. Like other boards in Pakistan, FBISE conducts annual examinations of SSC and HSSC according to a schedule.

The ninth and tenth-grade annual examinations are held in March and April, while the eleventh and twelfth-grade examinations are held in May and June each year, with written and practical papers kept separately. All schools and colleges in Islamabad and the above areas are affiliated to the Federal Board, while under the Federal Board, thousands of regular and private students take part in the annual and supply examinations of matriculation and intermediate classes.

The FBI releases the results of the ninth and tenth annual examinations in June or July, while the results of the 11th and twelfth annual examinations are announced by the Board in August or September each year. Matriculation and inter-class students of the Federal Board can view their complete results on the official website of the Board immediately after the announcement of the results while they also receive their result cards at their address a few days after the announcement of the results.

Immediately after the annual exams, supply tests are conducted by the Federal Board for failed students. The results of the supply exams are announced by the FBISE just one or two months after the exams, while students can view their detailed results on the official site of the Federal Board immediately after the announcement of the results of the supply exams.
