The National ECE Curriculum is inspired by the Advanced / Scope Curriculum, a developmentally appropriate model based on the development of Gene Paget’s theory of cognition. The curriculum has taken very precautionary measures to make the model of active learning culturally compatible, and it is firmly rooted in the Pakistani context and the needs of our society.


Since 2002, the curriculum has been implemented only in areas of Pakistan where the importance of early years education was known and where teacher training was available.


The (2006-07) Grade K-Xll curriculum has been thoroughly reviewed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and as part of this process, the ECE curriculum has been revised. The MoE is considering an implementation strategy that is expected to benefit minors (4-5 years old) across Pakistan.
