Learning to improve English grammar is an important task for students. English is a global language after all. Sooner or later students have to deal with English whether it is in their studies or outside of them.
Today we are going to teach you how to use AI tools to find and correct errors in any given English text.
The process is quite simple and straightforward for anyone who is computer literate. It consists of five steps which are discussed in the next section.

How To Fix Grammar Errors Using AI Tools?
These are the five steps you can use to fix grammar errors using tools.
- Find an AI Grammar Check tool
The first step is to find a reliable AI grammar checker. We are going to be checking out online tools for this matter.
So, just go online and conduct a search with any of the following keywords: grammar checker, check grammar online, and any variations of these words.

You will see plenty of results and it’s okay to select any tool from the first page. However, you should look out for the following things if you want a good experience.
- Is the tool free?
- Does it have options for uploading text?
- Does it color code the errors?
- Does it let you download the output?
And any other features that you may personally want. Once you have selected a good tool you can move on to the next step.
- Input Your Text
Some grammar checkers have the option to integrate with your work environment. The most common typing software, Microsoft Word, almost always has integration with the most popular grammar checkers.
That means that such tools can directly check your grammar in the Word document.
However, if you chose a tool that does not provide integrations, then you should input your content directly. Directly means that you either copy or paste the text you want to check into the online grammar checker.
Some tools also have the option to upload or import text files directly. Which is a more convenient option if students want to check an entire document.
Once the input is done, start the grammar check online and wait for the results. Usually, it takes just a few seconds for the tool to find and highlight all the errors, so the wait won’t be long.
- Study the Identified Mistakes
Now, students should study the identified mistakes. The aim here is not just to fix the errors but also to learn about them.
This is where AI grammar checkers truly shine because they don’t just highlight the mistakes and fix them; they also provide reasons and explanations for the errors.
Students should study these reasons to understand why they made the grammar error and how they can avoid it later. You can see in the given screenshot that different errors are highlighted in different colors (a very common feature in grammar checkers).

The actual color scheme may vary, but a legend is also provided to tell you the meaning of each color. One thing here to note is that AI grammar checkers are not infallible. They are usually right, but they are not always right. So, take their output with a grain of salt.
- Apply the Corrections
Once you have studied and reviewed the errors detected by the grammar checker, you need to apply the corrections that you think are correct.
That is quite easy to do. Most grammar checkers let you see the corrections by clicking on the colored words (i.e., the mistakes). To apply them, there is either a button on the drop-down menu or simply double-clicking also works.
Some grammar checkers also have a button for applying the correction in their interface. You can see it in the following image.

Some of them have “Correct all” and “Reject all” buttons too. By using these features, you can easily apply the corrections.
- Proofread The Output
As we said before the results of an online grammar check are not 100% guaranteed to be correct. Tools can occasionally make mistakes especially where context is required.
Students should get someone to proofread the corrections they have made with the help of the tool.
An experienced person would probably be the best for this job. Students can try to find a teacher to help them. If that’s not possible, then a senior student, an older sibling, or their parents can also help.
By proofreading and getting feedback, students will also gain better insight into their grammar errors and improve upon them. Ultimately, their own English grammar skills improve.
Conclusion
So, that’s how students can fix English grammar errors by using AI tools. The process is quite straightforward provided you fulfill the prerequisites which are computer literacy and a working internet connection. And that’s it.
